 McKEE, Sheila E. (nee Henderson) Former City of Kanata Councillor Gently, after a brief illness, surrounded by her adoring family on Saturday, September 25, 2010 age 68 years. Beloved wife of Gerry for 49 years. Cherished mother of David and Colleen. Dear sister of Roma Aiken of Halifax. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. A well-known and respected fixture in Kanata for 42 years, Sheila was involved in countless community and volunteer groups including Kanata Golf Club, KBCA, March Rural Association and the Womens Institute. She was current President of the Board of Directors of Community Child Care of Ottawa. Sheila was kind, good natured, quick to smile and a dear, treasured friend to many. She was known for her common sense, curiousity and imagination. Sheila was the definition of a "people person", loving to meet friends, old and new. She was always there to help out! A voracious reader of mysteries, she also loved the ocean, her pets, motel pools, strong tea, collecting everything and most of all, she loved her family. Sheila is and will always be loved by her family and many, many others. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry 150 Woodroffe Ave. at Richmond Rd. Tuesday 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday September 30 2010 at the Parish of March (St. John's), 325 Sandhill Rd. Kanata at 11 a.m. Interment Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Ottawa Humane Society would be appreciated. |
